Happy new year! Thank you to all those who supported our efforts in 2012.
In 2013, we look forward to helping the best organizations better serve their local communities and help people out of poverty.
Thank you all for your patience regarding news about the Concert 4 NYC. We are working as hard as we can on reaching a final decision. As soon as we have more information, we will let you know.
After last night’s cancellation of the Concert 4 NYC, the Black Eyed Peas were truly heartbroken. A devastated Fergie called in to Z100 New York this morning to share her feelings with fans. “I hope that people really focus on what this is about—it was for poverty in New York and making New York City a better place.” Listen to the call.
The Empire State Building goes green tonight in support of the 1.8 million New Yorkers living in poverty. Let us know if you see it in all its emerald glory!
Meet the Staff: Kwaku
Program Officer
Robin Hood: What would be your Black Eyed Peas name?
Kwaku: who.kwa.ku
Robin Hood: Name your favorite Black Eyed Peas song.
Kwaku: Joints & Jam
Robin Hood: How are you preparing yourself mentally and physically for the big day?
Kwaku: I’ve been jogging three miles a day and doing 500 sit-ups. I’ve also been doing lots of toe raises, lunges and squats. At concerts like this, you want to make sure that your legs are in good shape because of all the standing and dancing. On the day of the concert I plan on doing some stretching. You wouldn’t want to pull a muscle halfway through “Where Is the Love?”
Chase is New York City’s largest private employer. Robin Hood is New York City’s largest poverty fighter. Tonight, with the Black Eyed Peas, we’re holding a concert with the largest stage ever in Central Park to help better the lives of New Yorkers in need.
