#3 - Lady Gaga partners with Robin Hood to give $1 Million to support NYC teens
One million fans and poverty-fighters voted via Facebook to help LGBTQ teens living in poverty. The mother monster herself, Lady Gaga, presents a check to SCO Family of Services for $500,000. The remaining funds were distributed to Lawyers for Children, Safe Horizon, and The Door, who all support homeless youth.

With our year-end fundraising efforts in full swing, we’re all working hard. Each day, we award a trophy to one staff member that achieves something superb. In true Robin Hood style, our first trophy demonstrates the teamwork between David Saltzman, Executive Director, and Lars Jahns, Senior Vice President, Advancement. It is now up to them to decide who gets the trophy next!
We’re excited to announce that our Executive Director, David Saltzman, has been named one of the 50 most influential nonprofit leaders for the third year in a row by The NonProfit Times. The top 50 were selected “for the impact they have now and for the innovative plans they are putting in place to evolve the charitable sector.” Congrats, boss!
