One week prior to Hurricane Sandy, Maureen Mallon took photos of a small Christmas tree near a jetty in Sea Girt, New Jersey.  The Christmas tree was made from the branches of a large cedar tree from her yard in Beach Haven West, NJ.  One week later, 8 feet of water surged over her bulkhead and four feet of water destroyed her one story home.  She kindly donated this photo “as a sign of hope and love during this holiday season for those who have lost so much.”
