As much of America sits down to a warm Thanksgiving meal today, Sandy has denied many of us simple pleasures like a warm home, hot water, electricity, and the ability to cook the very meal for which we give thanks. Robin Hood has taken steps to increase the number of hot meals served to those in the communities Sandy hit the hardest.
With financial support of more than $100,000 from Robin Hood, three of our long standing and trusted food organizations, St. John’s Bread and Life, the Food Bank of New York and Project Hospitality have committed to serve 17,000 more meals in the Rockaways, Coney Island, Red Hook and Staten Island. We hope this will give these families a little something to be thankful for this year.
