Robin Hood 2011 Moments:
#6 - The youngest poverty fighters making a difference in New York City
Even the youngest New Yorkers can be poverty fighters. When school is out for the summer, Camp Robin Hood helps teens continue their education. Each summer teens see what Robin Hood does first-hand, by learning about poverty, interacting with our grantees and directly volunteering to fight poverty head-on. The 2011 campers worked with people who had received job training from The Doe Fund, a Robin Hood-funded program. Camp Robin Hood alumni are part of the Teen Council that meets monthly to learn about grantmaking and continue serving our community.
